Courier services at the limit of their capacity

As e-shops expect record revenues this year, several delivery companies are already restricting their services.

With most shops closed until Thursday due to the anti-coronavirus restrictions, more people are buying their Christmas gifts online. Due to the large numbers of packages, some couriers started to limit their services - for example GLS or DPD.
Some have stopped picking up parcels at people's homes - shipments then must be taken to a collection point. Some introduced an additional seasonal charge or a limit on the daily number of goods shipped.
Analysts predict that this year, people will spend over 200 billion crowns in e-shops - that is 25% more than last year. Some e-shops are trying to solve the situation by opening their own pick-up points but many companies warn - do not leave your shopping to the last minute.
