Nine out of fourteen Czech regions are currently at the third (red) level of coronavirus infection risk - which means increasing or persistent community transmission.

Last week, only five regions were red. At this stage, the infection spreads uncontrollably, and in more than 30% of cases, the authorities are not able to determine where the infection occurred.

Five remaining regions - Plzeňský, Ústecký, Liberecký, Olomoucký, and Vysočina - are yellow, indicating starting community transmission. The colour green no longer appears on the map.
According to today's data from the Institute of Health Information and Statistics, the reproduction number is currently 1.4. The newest anti-coronavirus measures came into effect on Wednesday, you can read more about them here.
