Prague, Ostrava, and Liberec - these places have one thing in common: you can pay for public transport tickets by card. Brno will introduce this service next month.

The option to pay by card on public transport vehicles is quite unique in Europe - now people have the opportuity to do so in three Czech cities and others are to follow. The city of Pardubice wants to start with this project next year.
Brno will allow payments by card in the whole region, that means that you can buy a ticket not only for city transpost but also regional buses and trains. Ostrava has already stopped using paper tickets completely since the beginning of this year because of low sales. Now the city is planning to start with one-day tickets that will be available for card payments too.
