This important FDA EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) certification enables the company that has created the ventilator to sell the product in tens of countries in the world. This ventilator called CoroVent helps with emergency cases of people infected by Covid-19 and was developed during the coronavirus crisis. The company MICo Medical has already produced 400 of them.

Some of the 400 ventilators were produced within a crowdfunding campaign on Donio.cz and dozens of other pieces were used for independent testing and international business purposes. Although the reactions from places where they had the opportunity to try CoroVent were positive, without a valid certification, the purchase of a larger number of ventilators was problematic and in many cases impossible.
However, CoroVent has been successful also in Europe. The company won a second place in the EUvsVirus hackathon, the largest pan-European online event of its kind, initiated by the European Commission. CoroVent also placed 2nd at the Hack the Crisis Czech Republic hackathon, organized by the CzechInvest Business and Investment Support Agency. The UN and other partners have shown interest in the product.
