The north-eastern city of Ostrava just got its two new double-decker buses. They should be in operation in two months.

These ecological buses powered by CNG gas were originally supposed to start running in July. However, production in the Spanish factory of the Scania company was delayed by the pandemic.

In autumn, they will start carrying passengers on the line between the zoo and the industrial complex of Dolní Vítkovice - two major tourist destinations in the city. The buses will be operating on this line on school holidays, weekends, Czech and Polish public holidays. On weekdays, they can be deployed on other lines as well.

Ostrava will thus become the first Czech city to use double-decker buses on regular public transport lines.
