Czechia should receive first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine on Saturday night - vaccinations are to begin next day.

At first, hospital workers in selected facilities will get vaccinated. First 9,750 doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine will be divided between four hospitals in Prague and two in Brno. Other deliveries of about 19,500 doses could arrive on December 28 or 29 and are intended for other regions.
In January, the vaccine should be delivered to 30 vaccination centers in large hospitals. These facilities already have lists of employees who are interested in getting the jab - and according to the Minister of Health Jan Blatný (for ANO), the interest is great. Health professionals working in high-risk wards, hospitalized seniors and later also seniors in care homes will be prioritized.
Other seniors and younger people with high-risk medical conditions will be able to get the vaccine in February at the earliest. In mid-January, an ordering system should be launched. People will fill in their age and whether they belong to any risk category - they will also be asked about their allergic reaction history.
