Hairdressers to open next week

On Monday, May 3, several services - such as hairdressers - will be allowed to open. For most clients, a negative test will be mandatory.

As previously announced, the government decided to let some services to open, starting next week. This loosening of restrictions involves services concerning body care - such as hairdressers, manicure or pedicure and cosmetics.

Customers will have to present a negative Covid-19 test to be admitted. An antigen test will be valid for 72 hours, PCR for seven days. Testing will not be necessary for those who had Covid-19 in the last 90 days or those fully vaccinated (after a period of 14 days after the last dose). One service provider will only be allowed to serve one customer at a time - but more providers can be present at one time.

Dog groomers will also be allowed to open, as well as spa treatment or rehabilitation care for post-Covid patients. Previously, the cabinet said it planned to open shops too, if the number of newly infected people drops to 100 per 100,000 inhabitants. According to the Minister of Health Petr Arenberger (for ANO), this threshold will probably be reached by the end of next week.

The government will decide on Thursday whether to open all stores on May 3. We wrote about future plans for relaxing of the anti-epidemic measures here.
