Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) announced on Twitter that Czechs will not need a negative coronavirus test when travelling to Greece.

The new restriction was originally supposed to start Monday. According to Babiš, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will announce the changes today.

Greece is one of the favourite destinations of Czech tourists. About 4,800 are due to fly to the country next week. More than 30,000 by mid-September.

Because of the new measures, Czechia originally mobilized its sampling stations. They were supposed to give priority to people who were to fly to Greece.

According to Andrej Babiš, Greek authorities are dealing with a case of a tourist who went on holiday despite being in quarantine. He then tested positive in Greece. The possibility that tourists will be tested upon arrival in the country remains.
