Around a quarter of patients remain hospitalized even after officially recovering from an initial Covid-19 diagnosis, Czech hospitals say.

According to the Ministry of Health's algorithm that several Prague hospitals have confirmed, patients are transferred to a standard ward and are considered negative after ten days, if they have no symptoms for the last three days.

After that, they no longer appear neither in the statistics of people hospitalized with Covid-19, nor in the death statistics. However, about 26% of patients remain in hospitals for longer - weeks, sometimes even for months.

The Ministry of Health's data reported about 5,700 hospitalized people on Thursday. It also informed that hospitals in the country are at capacities - and the situation is indeed even worse than statistics suggest.
