On the first day after the launch of the Central Reservation System for Vaccination against Covid-19, 116,994 seniors got registered.

The registration started on Friday - right now, it is only for people aged 80 and over. Due to the lack of vaccines in the country, only 9,800 of those registered were also able to book an appointment to get their jab.
The launch was not without complications - authorization text messages got delayed, the system was sometimes unavailable, the accompanying phone line 1221 was overloaded and the first appointments were all booked in 90 minutes.
Seniors can now apply to get their vaccine any time - according to the Minister of Health Jan Blatný (for ANO), the system is set up so that they will always get priority over others. In the Czech Republic, there are about 441,000 people over the age of 80. Most of them live at home - the state is now vaccinating those in nursing homes, where the infection can spread more easily.
