Czech culture as many other cultures has been going through a very difficult time due to Covid restrictions. Events will very likely stay limited until the end of this year, Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek (ČSSD). Learn to live with the status quo, he said to the protesters yesterday at the Old Town Square.

Concert and event organizers, producers and other people connected to culture in the Czech Republic have therefore created an initiative called #zazivoukulturu (i. e. for live culture). It brings together 130 thousand people from cultural professions. They claim that nowadays this realm works on only 17 percent of normal capacity. The problem is, they say, that events are impossible to be planned for the state measures can change in a minute. People, therefore, have stopped buying tickets.
Organizers have written an open letter to the Prime Minister Babiš (ANO) stating, among others, that they need specific rules beforehand so that they can react in time. They claim they are able to organize safe festivals. They also gathered at a demonstration on Monday with the main theme being:"Let the life music play!"
The Ministry of Culture have already promised the entrepreneurs in culture financial aid up to 900 million crowns. The Minister Zaorálek claims that organizers must understand that the measures will not go away anytime soon but is ready to debate about them.
