Covid update
On Sunday, almost every third person was positive on Covid-19 from over ten thousand tested people. The score of the anti-epidemic system remained at 76 on the fourth day, which corresponds to the fifth degree of risk. Politicians have started discussing a possible further tightening of measures against coronavirus, but the government will make the final decision, according to the Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO), only on Wednesday, when it will know whether MPs will allow it to extend the state of emergency.

Flights from the UK stopped

Flights from Great Britain to the Czech Republic will stop from today. The Ministry of Health informed about it on its Twitter. From Sunday, people arriving from the UK must undergo a quarantine of at least five days. The measure is being introduced due to concerns about the spread of a new strain of coronavirus that has appeared in Britain. Other countries have also decided to terminate flights from the UK, for example Poland or Canada.
A likely piece of a nail from the Christ's cross revealed
Archaeologists have discovered in Milev Monastery a box with a cut off part of a nail from the so-called Right Cross, i.e. the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified. It is one of the rarest Christian relics, no matter if real or false. Archaeologists have found a six-inch-long piece of nail in a cavity in the vault of the monastery.
Tourists return to Prague, mostly Czechs
This year's Christmas in Prague is being saved by tourists from the Czech Republic. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the holidays are different from the previous ones, when hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world came to the capital every year at the end of the year. This year, the centre of the city does not have the traditional big Christmas markets, exhibitions and concerts where people could meet.
