The end of the emergency state

The state of emergency, which lasted half a year in the country, ceased to apply from midnight on Sunday to Monday. While most of the strict measures will continue, as of Monday, Czechs will be able to travel freely between districts again, and the night curfew will end. The minister of foreign affairs will be replaced

At Sunday evening's meeting with the chairman of the ČSSD and Deputy Prime Minister Jan Hamáček, Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček (ČSSD) was informed about his dismissal from the government. Petříček told the media without further information, Hamáček did not respond to the question. According to media speculation, the current head of diplomacy is to be replaced by the current Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek (ČSSD) who will be replaced on his position by Jan Birke (ČSSD).

Five million people have filled the census form already

During the 14 days since the beginning of the census of inhabitants, houses and flats in the Czech Republic, about five million people have been counted electronically. In the last week, an average of over 135,000 forms were used daily, the greatest interest is on days off and in the evening, according to the statisticians. The electronic census began on Saturday, the 27th of March, and will end on the 11th of May. People will also have a chance to use paper questionnaires from the 17th of April.

The Prague Spring will offer 22 concerts

The organizers of the Prague Spring Festival want to offer 22 concerts in the modified program between the 12th of May and the 3rd of June, which will take place with the spectators in the halls, if the valid restrictions allow it. At the same time, spectators will be able to watch all concerts free of charge live on the Prague Spring website.
