3130 - number of people who were tested positive on COVID-19 on Thursday. First time the number has exceeded three thousand in one day. The number is comparable to the whole month of March.

The Czech Republic has ten times more cases of coronavirus per capita than Slovakia. Compared to the other EU states, after Spain and France, Czechia has the most cases.

Since the 10th of September, it has been mandatory to wear a mask indoor throughout the Czech Republic. Due to the growing number of infected and hospitalized, the Government is introducing further general measures from Friday. Indoor mass standing events for more than ten people will be banned, with the exception of exhibitions, markets and similar events.

Students and teachers must also wear masks in classrooms, with the exception of the first grade classes. Restaurants and bars throughout the country will remain closed between midnight and six o'clock in the morning.

The disease is now speading the most in Prague and the other Central Bohemian districts, but also in the Kroměříž, southern Plzeň, Uherské Hradiště and Cheb regions. The map shows the situation from the beginning of September, we are waiting for the updated map. Green colour shows the regions with the infection spreading without the community transmission, the yellow one shows "starting community transmission." Source: The Ministry of Health.
