Which one is it? The new Concert Hall in Ostrava. The architectural study of the building was included to the list of the most awaited buildings in the world by the prestigious magazine Architizer. It includes the reconstruction of the existing House of Culture. It will cost more than two billion crowns.

The building will be environmentally friendly, according to the architects. It will be heated by heat pumps, and the window parts of the concert hall should be made of a special glass to prevent heat leakage. The architects are also thinking of using purely Ostrava specifics - to heat the building with mine water. The test drilling may start in August.

The new 1,300 seat concert hall was designed as a “perfect acoustic instrument in its case”, according to the Architizer magazine. The building will provide not only performance space for the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, but will also offer a rehearsal room, an education center and a recording studio. The concert hall is supposed to be built in the year 2025.
