Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) objected to the recommendations of the Czech branch of WHO and criticized the organization for its initial response to the pandemic.

"Testing, contact tracing and isolation have no alternative in an effective response to the Covid-19. Not here and not anywhere," stated the WHO on its Facebook account in a response to the recent speculations about changes in contact tracing in the Czech Republic.

According to Babiš, experts in Czechia are considering tracing only the severe cases of Covid-19 in the future. More information on this should be announced by Friday.

"The WHO didn't recommend face masks, didn't even know there was a pandemic. I think the organization should keep quiet," said Babiš on his Twitter account.

The Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (ANO/independent) also objected to the WHO's warning. He emphasized that Czech Republic wouldn't not stop tracing. According to him, the experts have only started a debate on changing the tracing system to make it more efficient. At the same time, the capacity of hygiene stations and laboratories is being increased.
