Prague: yellow on Covid risk map

The capital's alert level on the epidemiological risk map changed to the second degree - starting community transmission.

The Ministry of Health announced the change today - as Prague reported a record number of new cases: 103 in the last 24 hours.

However, no additional measures will be introduced at the moment. Starting September 1, people in Czechia will have to wear face masks on public transport, at Prague Airport, in hospitals, pharmacies and several other indoor spaces.

If the situation in Prague worsens, the obligation to wear a mask could be extended - for example to shops or restaurants - and bars could be forced to close early.
