Despite the coronavirus crisis, the salaries in the Czech Republic continued to grow in the first quarter of the year. The gross wage increased by 5.4 percent compared to the previous year.

Czech people earned on average 36 332 Czech crowns and the richest region is, traditionally Prague. On the other hand, employees get paid the least in the area surrounding Karlovy Vary. However, they spend approximately 146 hours per month in the office, which makes them one of the hardest workers in the country.

People, who want to earn the most should aim for positions in IT, management, and leasing. The gross wage for these professionals is over 50 000 Czech crowns. The lowest numbers appear on the accounts of bank clerks, postmen, and ambulance drivers.

The wage gap between men and women in the Czech Republic remains quite large. Men earn more in every age and almost in every position. For example, the difference between the salary of men and women in their 30s is more than 6 thousand Czech crowns.
