Instead of the initial plan to discuss the new restrictions tomorrow, the Government will be deciding about the new measures this afternoon.

Following the worsening situation in the Czech Republic, the measures will allegedly affect leisure activities and the number of people who can meet at one point. The Czech Republic now has the biggest number of positive cases on hundred thousand inhabitants in the last two weeks in the whole Europe.

The Minister of Health Roman Prymula (for ANO) has previously stated that the new measures will not affect the economy, but leisure activities and will apply for two weeks, then will be dismantled for two weeks. In regions that are now red at the risk light, measures will need to be tougher. According to other media, one of the options is a complete closure of theaters.

Prime Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) said this week that the new restrictions should apply from Monday. According to Prymula, the new package of measures is 95 percent complete. The Ministry of Health discusses it with the ministers concerned.

Italy and Romania have tightened the measures for travelers from the Czech Republic. There are now not many "green" countries left in Europe when Czechs can travel without any restrictions. To see the map with the latest travel restrictions click HERE.
