Wednesday Covid-19 numbers rose

On Wednesday, there were 9,567 new cases of infected people, which is almost 1,100 more than a week ago. The value of the PES epidemic index rose from 70 to 71 points. The reproduction number has returned above 1.0 after Tuesday's decline. For the first time since mid-January, the number of people infected with Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants has risen.
The Czech Republic has ordered vaccines against Covid-19 for 11 million people. Orders from Moderna and Pfizer / BioNTech have been increased to deliver doses for up to six million people. This was stated by vaccination coordinator Kateřina Baťhová. According to her, AstraZeneca has also specified that in February it will deliver 130,000 doses instead of the expected 81,000 doses. Czech Ministry calls for immediate release of Navalny
The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Russian Ambassador Alexander Zmeevsky. Deputy Minister Ales Chmelař protested against the detention of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny and the brutal crackdown by police against peaceful demonstrators in Russia. The resort called on Moscow to release the opposition politician immediately. According to the Russian embassy, the interference of Prague in Russia's internal affairs is unacceptable.
Not enough charging stations for electric cars

The Czech Republic is lagging behind much of the rest of Europe when it comes to use of electric cars and network of charging stations. At present, there are 808 charging stations in the Czech Republic, which is only 0.4 percent of the total number in the EU. In total, over 5,000 electric cars are registered in the Czech Republic. In Germany, there are approximately 40,000 public charging stations.
