The President has asked China for delivery of their vaccine


In cooperation with the Prime Minister Andrei Babiš (ANO), President Miloš Zeman asked China for a supply of the Chinese anti-covid vaccine Sinopharm. The spokesman of the president Jiří Ovčáček announced it on Twitter. According to him, China will comply with the request immediately. On Tuesday, Zeman held talks at Prague Castle with representatives of the Chinese company CITIC Europe Holding, including a Chinese vaccine. The President has previously asked Russia for the Sputnik V vaccine. Neither Sinopharm nor Sputnik V have yet been approved for use in European Union countries.


The EU states will donate vaccines to the Czech Republic


The European Union states confirmed that they will give the Czech Republic priority to give an additional 100,000 doses of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine against Covid-19. This was stated by the IHNED.cz server. Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) announced on Twitter that the Czech Republic will receive these benefits next week.

The Krkonoše Mountains were visited by record number of cyclists last year



Last year, the Krkonoše Mountains recorded the second highest number of visitors in the last nine years. In addition, automatic counters have detected new trends in visitor behavior. People went to the mountains more often in the evening and at night, or before sunrise. A record number of cyclists also arrived.


The highest Czech mountain, Sněžka, is one of the most visited places in the Krkonoše Mountains during the day and at night as well, as people want to see the sunrise. Sněžka was visited by 11,000 people a day last summer.


Already a second image by the University of Opava has been published on NASA pages



This year, the Office of the American Space Organization NASA published already a second image of the Institute of Physics of the Silesian University in Opava, this time taken from the Czech territory. The author of the photograph called Mars in Taurus is Petr Horálek, who told ČTK that the film was taken at the Seč dam in the Chrudim region at the time of the government's coronavirus closure.
