Covid update

The daily increase in new cases of coronavirus has accelerated again. On Wednesday, the number got close to 15,000 for the first time. There are now about active 124,000 positive cases in the country. Due to the deteriorating situation, restrictions on movement, trade and services will apply from 6:00 on Thursday. The measures can be found HERE. On Thursday afternoon, the government will discuss the US offer to send military doctors to the Czech Republic.

Ceremony on 28th of October

The Minister of Health Roman Prymula (for ANO) told the Czech Television that from an epidemiological point of view he would not recommend to hold a ceremony on October 28 at Prague Castle. He discussed the situation with President Miloš Zeman, who in the past indicated that he would like to organize the celebration.

UPDATE: In the afternoon, it was decided that the ceremony will not take place this year. Next year, the President will award the nominees.

Football corruption case

Dagmar Damková resigned as a member of the Executive Committee of the Football Association of the Czech Republic and as the Chairwoman of the Steering Committee for the Czech Republic. The former first-league referee resigned after her partner Roman Berbr, who is involved in the case of alleged corruption and influencing the results of the second and third league matches, ended up in all football positions on Monday.
