Covid update

On Wednesday, 15,729 people were tested positive of covid-19 in the Czech Republic, which is the most since the beginning of the pandemic. Yesterday, testing of seniors in nursing homes started as well.

New travel restrictions

From Monday, the 9th of November, uniform EU travel rules with regard to the coronavirus epidemic will apply in the Czech Republic. The ministry of foreign affairs revealed a trafic lights map which shows what measures apply on the way back. However, other countries will probably also place some measures so it is necessary to check the destination you're travelling to. More information can also be found HERE.

Free parking in cities suggested

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tomáš Petříček (ČSSD) proposes to suspend parking fees in zones not only in Prague, but in the entire Czech Republic during an emergency. He argues that people nowadays do not drive unnecessarily, they usually need to supply their relatives or do something important. According to him, a similar step in the spring proved successful and did not lead to major problems in city centres.

Czech Republic has sent help to Malta

This week the Czech Republic sent 96 doses of the drug Remdesivir to the Republic of Malta. Ministry of health informed on Twitter it sent 96 doses of the drug.

According to the new minister of health Jan Blatný (fro ANO), the Czech Republic has enough of the drug to help Malta.
