Covid update
On Wednesday, there were 8,925 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Czech Republic. This is almost seven thousand less than a week ago, when the highest daily increase in positive tests was recorded. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade and Transport Karel Havlíček (for ANO) stated that shops that were closed by the government measures could open even before Christmas.

Reproduction number has got under 1
The reproduction number has dropped to 0.8. The head of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics (ÚZIS) Ladislav Dušek confirmed this inormation today. Exactly this number was set by former Minister of Health Roman Prymula as a milestone for possible consideration for releasing the measures. However, the current minister, Jan Blatný, said on Wednesday, that the new system (PES) would still evaluate the whole country at highest risk level.
New special hospital vehicle has transported first patients
The Hospital in Motol in Prague received ten patients with Covid-19 from the Benešov hospital today. The patients are not connected to artificial lung ventilation and the hospital accepted them on an emergency basis. They will be hospitalized in the covid unit of the surgery department. They were brought to Prague from Benešov by a special car of the Prague rescue service, which can take up to 12 patients at once. It was its first trip.

Fitness studios count huge losses
The losses of the fitness sector in the last four weeks have exceeded half a billion crowns. Strong and large fitness centers are already on the verge of survival as well, according to the statement of the Czech Chamber of Fitness. The statement says that in the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, fitness owners and providers received no support. Only now do some receive approved subsidies from the spring accounts.
