The extension of emergency state

Members of Parliament will be considering a request from the government to further extend the state of emergency. According to the proposal, the emergency state should last for another 30 days until the 20th of December. Statements from the representatives have shown so far that they might support a shorter period of time, as they did in the past.

Babiš met the President in Lány Castle

At the meeting in Lány, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) spoke with President Miloš Zeman mainly about extending the state of emergency. Babiš admitted that the government has not yet negotiated support for its proposal to extend the state of emergency for 30 days. The Prime Minister and the President also discussed the issue of reducing income tax to 15 percent, as Babiš suggests.

Testing in senior houses

After the first round of testing in nursing houses, there are 14 percent people infected out of thousands tested. In some houses it is up to 30 percent, in some places there is practically no infection, said the Minister of Health Jan Blatný (for ANO) at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Health Care. At the beginning of November, the government imposed the obligation to regularly test clients and employees of about 1,500 social services facilities. However, the delivery of test kits was delayed.
