A combination of wooden traditional buildings from the beginning of the 19th century and glass - this is the main winner of this year's Czech Architecture Award. OV Architects Studio won the prize for the reconstruction and completion of the Lasvit headquarters in Nový Bor.

Among the six finalists was also the revitalization of Prague's embankments, a wine shop, a kindergarten, a family house and workshops for agricultural machinery. All pictures are courtesy of the Czech Architecture Award website. More information can be found HERE.

In the finals of the fifth annual award, the jury selected from 191 submitted works which is an increase of applications compared to a previous year. The Czech Architecture Award’s primary aim is to present architecture to the wider public. A competitive showcase of the best in Czech architecture, the CAA not only highlights the aesthetic and technical quality of the nominated projects, but considers the context in which they have been built, their relationship to their surroundings and the social benefits they offer.
