COVID-19 update
New measures will come into effect on Wednesday, October 14th. Most of the measures are stronger versions of the restrictions that have been valid from Monday this week. See the list of the new restrictions HERE.

More than four thousand people were tested positive on Monday, October 12th. On Sunday, October 11th, the number of people infected was over three thousand and almost 11,500 people were tested in total on Sunday.
The number of the people that died from COVID-19 has exceeded one thousand. Over two thousand people are in hospitals.
Bílá Pastelka
Bílá Pastelka (White Pencil) is a public collection, which is taking place around the whole country from Monday to Wednesday, October 12th to 14th. Volunteers in white t-shirts are selling white pencils in the streets for thirty crowns. The money collected by Bílá Pastelka will be used to support the blind people or the people with visual impairments.

Blood is missing in hospitals
Because of the COVID-19 situation, people are afraid to donate blood. The hospitals are currently dealing with a lack of the blood even though the non-urgent operations have been recently limited. The hospital staff emphasize that the hygienic measures in hospitals are taken seriously, and there is not an increased risk of infection for the people who decide to donate blood.
Celebration in Prague Castle
The Czech Republic celebrates 28th October as the day, when the Czechoslovak state was established. There is public holiday in Czechia, and there is usually celebration organised by the Prague Castle with hundreds of people invited. President Miloš Zeman is not planning on cancelling this celebration even this year.
