Covid update

The number of new Covid-19 cases in the Czech Republic continues to slow down. On Monday, there were 6048 new positive test results, which is about 3,200 less than a week ago, the Ministry of Health said.


Lunches for children and seniors

Prague has launched a new project Lunches for Children, to help parents with children in distance learning, but also to restaurants that must be closed in an emergency. For an affordable price, they can now cook for school children or seniors. For school children the price will be for 60 CZK. Seniors will pay CZK 90. Private restaurant owners may apply for the project as well. More information can be found HERE.


The Olympic meeting bus goes to Brno hospital

Czech Olympic Committee has been lending the meeting bus free of charge to homes for the elderly and hospitals since the spring and now it will serve patients at the Brno Exhibition Centre. Family members can safely meet each other thanks to a thin glass that separates them from each other. The bus was brought to Brno by bronze Olympic medalist Šárka Kašpárková and Petr Graclík, general secretary of the Czech Olympic Committee.


The epidemic situation in the Czech Republic will be coordinated by the PES

The government will reveal a new system of measures to tackle coronavirus called PES (=DOG), which is an abbreviation of an anti-epidemic system. It is intended to help citizens become familiar with the measures currently in force with regard to the degree of risk of infection. It will consist of two tables, one informing about the measures in force and the other describing in detail what is allowed or still forbidden within each area. First table could be ready on Tuesday, additional detailed infromation will be presented on Friday, according to the Health minister.
