Everyone over the age of 16 should be able to register to get their Covid-19 vaccine from June 1 at the latest - says PM Andrej Babiš (ANO).

On Wednesday, the registrations will open for the 50-54 age group. However, some seniors, especially those who wanted to get a jab from their GP, are still waiting for an appointment. The GPs vaccinate with the AstraZeneca and J&J vaccines and are limited by reduced deliveries.
In total, Czechia has ordered almost 27 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccines, of which 14 million from Pfizer/BioNTech. More than a million people in the country is completely vaccinated and over two million have received at least one dose of the vaccine - which is less than a quarter of the population over the age of 16.
The epidemic situation in the Czech Republic has been steadily improving. On Sunday, laboratories confirmed 504 new cases - the lowest daily increase since September 6. However, weekend numbers tend to be lower, as fewer people get tested. The average increase on weekdays last week was about 2,500. There are now 137 cases in the last seven days per 100,000 inhabitants.
As the situation is getting better, the government decided to relax some anti-epidemic measures. From today, people with a negative test can get a haircut, a manicure or a massage. In seven regions, secondary school pupils can return to schools. Galleries and museums can also open. On May 10, all shops should start operating. We wrote more about it here.
