Pandemic - a chance for illegal traders

Pandemic time brings business opportunities for various traffickers and speculators. Until recently, such deals mainly concerned the supply of protective equipment, such as respirators or drapes. But now it seems time to trade in anti-covid vaccines. Last week, Prague City Hall received a strange offer for 400,000 vaccines from AstraZeneca. However, the manufacturer denied that they would negotiate the vaccine with the dealer. Seznam News have now found that several governors have received similar offers to buy the vaccine from intermediaries in recent weeks.

The biggest vaccination centre? In Brno

Almost a quarter of a year after vaccination against Covid-19 started, the city of Brno has the largest vaccination centre in the country. The large university hospital there, which, in cooperation with the municipality and the South Moravian Region, operates a high-capacity centre at the Brno Exhibition Grounds, still clearly leads in the number of reported vaccinations. By Tuesday, the 16th of March, it was almost 40,000 doses.

Brno is followed by other large state hospitals in the table of the largest vaccination centres.

Covid update

On Tuesday, the number of hospitalizations decreased to 9,006, according to current data from the Ministry of Health, 2016 patients were in serious condition. Due to the enormous burden of the disease, however, the government does not intend to significantly loosen anti-epidemic measures in the coming weeks.
