Covid update
There were 9,016 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday. It is about 3,000 less than a week ago. In the past seven days, there were about 240 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants in Prague, which is the least in the Czech Republic. Currently, the most affected is the Pelhřimov region with 961 cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants.

Children could return to schools soon
The Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) said that if the the epidemic situation continues to improve, children in the first two classes of primary schools could return to schools on the 18th of November. The Minister of Education Robert Plaga (ANO) and the Minister of Health Jan Blatný (for ANO) will hold a press conference today about the return of children to schools. It will take place at 1:15 pm in the Chamber of Deputies.
State budget for the next year
On Wednesday, the Chamber of Deputies deals with the draft state budget for next year with a planned deficit of 320 billion crowns. In the morning, the budget will be supported by President Miloš Zeman in the Parliament. The lower house of the Parliament votes in the first reading on the basic settings of the proposal.
War Veterans Day
102 years ago, a ceasefire spread on the Western Front and the First World War ended for good. In honor of the millions of dead and wounded soldiers, we commemorate today as War Veterans Day. Its symbol is a poppy, known from a poem by the Canadian surgeon John McCray.
