Only those over 40 can expect to get at least the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine by the end of June - says the Minister of Health.

On Wednesday, vaccination registration opened for the 65-69 age group. According to the Minister of Health Petr Arenberger (for ANO), going forward, each time the registration will open for an age group spanning five years. With the expected deliveries, that means nobody under the age of 40 can expect to get their jab before the summer holidays start.
Arenberger also stated that Easter holidays did not worsen the epidemic development in Czechia. However, he advises caution, as the epidemic can be considered to be under control when there are not more than 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Right now, there are about three times that.
In the number of newly infected in the last 14 days, the situation in the Czech Republic is currently the tenth worst in the EU. From the beginning of February until mid-March, Czechia was the worst. In the number of deaths in the last two weeks, the country now ranks at the fifth worst place.
